Vacancy — Personal Space Cleanup for Confluence

Support & documentation

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Vacancy adds a Vacancy page to Confluence administration. It lists every personal space, flags the ones nobody uses, and archives them in bulk — by hand or with a daily rule. Every run can be undone. Vacancy never deletes a space. Only Confluence administrators can open it.

Using Vacancy

  1. Go to Confluence administration (gear icon) and open Vacancy in the apps section.
  2. Personal spaces lists every personal space with its owner's account status, pages, blog posts and last change, and three flags: Untouched, Owner left and Dormant. It changes nothing and works without a license.
  3. Select spaces (untouched and owner-left spaces are pre-selected), press Dry run to see what would happen, then Archive selected and type ARCHIVE.
  4. Archived lists archived personal spaces; select and Restore.
  5. Daily rule & history: archive untouched spaces older than N days and/or spaces whose owner left, every day. The last 30 runs are listed with a report and an Undo button.
